This is one of my favoutite hip-hop albums ever. Very funky and jazzy with a dose of humour thrown in.

as a 12-year-old white kid growing up in borderline-rural canada, i can still remember the first time i saw the video for bonita applebum, and what a profound effect on me that had, and how i immediately became an ATCQ (and hip hop) fan.

a belated happy anniversary to you, mr. muhammad. i can’t believe it’s been that long.

and as a quick p.s., maybe it was only a canada thing, but i still can’t believe “prophylactics” was censored in that vid. as a kid, i was intrigued by what that dirty word could be, and when i finally copped the album, i still didn’t know what the hell it meant. hehe.

I remember meeting Tribe,L.O.N.S and Dave Funkenklein at Red Alerts office right after this album came out, We all had lunch at some sit down chicken joint, near Red’s office, lol Those were some great times!
I remember going into the basement of Nell’s and hearing this thunderous boom and wondering what it was? only to see the dance floor packed and the crowd going bezerk to I Left My Wallet in El Segundo! WoOW! I was blown away! I learned something new about HipHop that day, We can dance to slow/midtempo beats! Where I’m from it’s strictly 120 bpm and up! lol
That was a great day for me and one that will be with me always.

Thank you for merging souls with your music all over the world.
ATCQ is an important evidence of our time thru its expression and artform, thru its message, rhythm and melodies. Wherever and whenever there is a discussion about hiphop, atcq is mentioned with respect and excitement in every continent. Its an universal act, Ali, to create the frequencies that carried so many words of truth and strength out in this world, like rays of sunlight carrying the warmness with it – this journey will transform into other dimensions, but never will it come to an end – so until i can – i clap my hand. :)

Happy Anniversary to you and your fellow Questers. I have so many first time experiences and memories connected to this soundtrack of my youth. The adventures of Hip Hop’s fab four on they’re quest to figure it all out.

Thank you Ali , Malik, Kamal and sometimes Jarobi for the memories. That quest may over but the journey still continues. :-) 20 years (-:
